Visita Cláudia / Cláudia’s visit

Cláudia chegou e já foi, num espaço de tempo – pra nós – tão curto que quando finalmente estávamos nos acostumando a sua presença, ela já estava indo embora. Ficou aquele gostinho de quero mais que, infelizmente pra gente, vai demorar para ser satisfeito… Falo mais num outro posto sobre nossa viagem a Edimburgo.

Cláudia has arrived and is already gone, in such a very short time – for us – that when we were finally used to having her here, she was already leaving. There’s still this nice after taste that, unfortunately, won’t be tasted again in a longer time than wished… More in a post about our trip to Edinburgh.

CoRetEx

I’m preparing myself for my working trip to Colorado, in what is known in our company as the CoRetEx (Colorado Retail Experience). The idea is to give those who work at the ABC a bit of the taste of the American way of life. Of course it’s not something you can really experience in less than a week, but it’s a small taste and a nice one for that matter. We will be visiting lots of places and I’ll try to post about the trip in my new travel blog Of all the places in the world…

I’ll be colecting my new passport on Friday, since for the US we need to have one that is valid for at least 6 months while in the country. Why, I have no idea, but it’s a completely weird one. Does it help in keeping people from going under?

Estou me preparando para a minha viagem de trabalho para o Colorado, para o que no trabalho chamamos de CoRetEx (Colorado Retail Experience). A idéia é dar às pessoas que trabalham na ABC um gostinho do modo de vida americano. É claro que não é algo que se possa vivenciar em menos de uma semana, mas é um gostinho bem legal. Vamos visitar vários lugares e vou procurar postar sobre a viagem no meu novo blog de viagens Of all the places in the world…

Vou pegar meu novo passaporte na sexta-feira, já que para ir aos EUA é preciso um passaporte que seja válido por pelo menos 6 meses além da data da viagem. Por quê, não faço a menor idéia, mas é algo bem estranho.  Por acaso ajuda em prevenir que as pessoas caiam na marginalidade da ilegalidade?

Back to “normal” / De volta ao “normal”

With Cláudia gone (sniff), life is back to “normal”: work, study and the occasional irrationality. The weather has been really bad lately (thanks, sis!) and we are feeling a bit blue, I guess.

Com a partida da Cláudia (sniff), nossa vida voltou ao “normal”: trabalho, estudo e a irracionalidade ocasional. O tempo tem estado horrível ultimamente (obrigada, irmãzinha!) e estamos todos meio deprê, acho eu.

For my birthday Ruud has given me a special lamp EnergyLight, excellent for my case of winter depression. I haven’t tested it yet, but I’ll probably be doing it in the coming days, since I’ve been starting to feel the sintoms of autumn…

Pro meu aniversário o Ruud me deu uma lâmpada especial EnergyLight, excelente para o meu caso de depressão de inverno. Ainda não testei, mas provavelmente o farei nos próximos dias, já que estou começando a sentir os sintomas do outono…

Claudia is coming! / Claudia estah chegando!

In a couple of days my best friend Claudia will be arriving to stay a couple of weeks. Just too short, really, but better that than nothing, right? And with her we’re going to spend a few days in Scotland, visiting Edinburgh and the Highlands. We will have to visit the Loch Ness…

Em alguns dias a minha melhor amiga Claudia estara chegando para ficar duas semanas. Eh pouco tempo, mas melhor pouco do que nada, certo? E com ela iremos passar uns dias na Escocia, visitando Edimburgo e as Terras Altas escocesas. Nao poderiamos deixar de visitar o Loch Ness…
